The trip started in Whitefish, Montana
Polebridge has a shopping district of the Northern Lights and the Merc. Great bakery. A few "rustic" cabins for city folks and flat landers. 4th of July Parade is popular for the locals and visitors (Whitefish, Hungry Horse, West Glacier, Lake Five, etc.). Usually 20-30 people decorate their pick-ups and tractors and bring their flag waving children and dogs. New batteries in the boom box blast "Stars and Stripes."Auditions for the band have been slow.
Polebridge has more dogs than people. The tire in front of the Merc. has been there for 9 years. The owner needed some air. Said he’d be back to pick it up later when the generator is working again to power the air pump. The lights are propane, the generator is back working and we've got electric. Where is that guy?
Bears go into hibernation in about three weeks.
Time to wax the skis.
